The intensity of the color depends on the amount of water: the more water you add to the paint, the softer the color will be. Conversely, the less water you add, the darker the color.
Since watercolors are painted with water, don't use too thin paper as it may curl. The ideal weight for watercolors is about 300 grams.
Use a large round brush for flat areas and a thinner brush for detailed areas. There are also brushes with cisterns for outdoor painting.
